Blameless Heart and a Willing Mind

We often make decisions based on what we have learned by experience. We use this knowledge to form our belief systems but in doing so we often find ourselves confronted by the belief systems of other people in our lives. But when we let the Holy Spirit form our understanding and guide our decision making process, we are given the power to understand things that cannot be revealed by experience alone. The wisdom God gives us enables us to see beyond what is visible around us so that we change and shape the world and bring heaven to earth. When a wise man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him!

“The plans of the mind and orderly thinking (knowledge) belong to man, but from the Lord comes the [wise] answer of the tongue. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits (the thoughts and intents of the heart). Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

By mercy and love, truth and fidelity [to God and man—not by sacrificial offerings], iniquity is purged out of the heart, and by the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord men depart from and avoid evil. When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. The wise in heart are called prudent, understanding, and knowing, and winsome speech increases learning [in both speaker and listener].”

Proverbs 16: 1- 3 & 6-7
