As Joseph’s brothers knelt before him in Egypt, the contrast between those who hear and obey God’s voice, and those who don’t, could not be clearer. True obedience is rare, it is marked in a person by their extraordinary ability to overcome and lead even in the toughest conditions and circumstances. They are in the minority. The majority however, have to bow to their circumstances, constantly driven by their hunger and fear. Obedience is a gift. It is Grace, and in the end, it leads to great power and authority in the Kingdom.
